黏菌是介于真菌和植物之间的一类特殊生物,现被归在原生动物界。为了深入探究黏菌的奥秘及展望今后的科研动态,2014年8月在吉林长春举办了第186场中国工程科技论坛——黏菌分类学及生态学研究,与会嘉宾分别来自美国、英国、俄罗斯、德国、中国、日本、意大利、瑞士、法国、比利时、印度、乌克兰、菲律宾,这些世界顶尖专家们围绕“黏菌学——一个极具挑战性的领域”的主题分别进行了主题演讲和学术讨论。本书在对这些论坛报告汇编整理基础上而成,内容丰富,涵盖了黏菌的生态学、生物地理学、生物多样性、分类学、分子系统学及生物学等领域的学术论文及各位专家的报告内容。
