《运动员英语》系列教材是国家体育总局应用基础研究课题（2002-2004）“中国优秀运动员英语学习与教材研究”成果之一，是国内第一套为运动员量身定做的实用英语教材。
《运动员英语（二级）》面向具有一定英语基础或已学完《运动员英语（一级）》内容的学习者，主要内容包括情景对话、听说练习、语法回顾、语法练习、写的练习、体育项目词汇以及短句、体育名句欣赏等。本书以听、说能力的培养为主，同时使学习者逐步掌握英语基础知识和实用技能，为其在国际比赛中与国外同行的交流打下基础。
本系列教材的使用对象主要是国家各级别体育运动队运动员、体育中专学校学生以及广大的体育英语爱好者。本系列教材还可以作为综合性大学体育院系和专业体育院校学生的实用口语教材。
