《高职高专英语拓展教程2》由高职高专英语拓展教程编写组编著，共八个单元，涉及Traveling，Shopping，Education等方面话题，每单元分为4个板块，即1．Listening Inand Speaking Out；2．Reading Inand Writing Out；3．Practicing Your Grammar；4．Merry Learning。其中，Listening Inand Speaking Out为听说训练，形式有句子，短文听力理解，听写填空，通过听力辨识图片信息和口头描述图片等，重在培养学生听说能力，训练学生进行简单的日常和涉外会话的初步能力，难度适中，直观形象；ReadingInandWritingOut为读写专项训练，两篇短文，重在训练学生对篇章信息的理解能力，培养学生阅读和翻译有关业务英语资料的能力、模拟套写简单信函等涉外业务应用文的能力；Practicing Your Grammar是语法专项，但不是机械考查学生语法知识的掌握程度，而是通过中英文互译使学生体会语法的功能；Merry Learning为英文笑话，短小精悍，使学生在学习之余开怀一笑。
