Emergency mediane is a clinical medicine speaalty dedicated to the assessment of acute injuries and symptoms, evaluation of its potential risks, proper management of patients in order to avoid exacerbation or death and provide favorable conditions for other speaalties for further treatment. It also encompasses emergency medical rescue of disaster medicine.

International students from different countries in increasing numbers are enrolled in Capital Medical University in recent years. Apart from attending the required curriculums, they are gradually aware of the importance of emergency mediane, thus the Emergency Department of Capital Medical University attaches the contents of emergency mediane according to the teaching program and highlights the unique contents of emergency mediane such as dyspnea, chest pain, coma, disaster medicine, acute poisoning, trauma, resusatation, diseases related to physical and chemical factors, drowning, sunstroke and electric injuries, et al. These contents are very common practices in clinical medicine and can endanger patients' lives if not treated in time, however, they are also the contents that other clinical departments do not contain or emphasize enough. For easy access of study for international students, we make great efforts to compile this Emergency Medicine (English edition) although English is not our mother tongue. There must be definitely many flaws and shortcomings regardless of material selections and expressions. Readers are expected and welcomed to raise your valuable advices and suggestions.
