随着社会主义市场经济的繁荣发展，人们的经济活动日益增多，各种职业文书使用越来越频繁，职业写作技能已经成为现代人不可缺少的重要技能之一。本教材根据社会对大学生写作能力的要求并结合职业教育的人才培养需求，在广泛吸纳相关专家、学者科研成果的基础上，结合编者多年教学经验编写而成。
编者在编写中注意到写作技能的培养，同时更关注职业素养的培养。为弥补以往写作指导类教材单纯讲解写作技巧的不足，本教材从职业人才培养的目标出发，增加了人文素养的教学内容。本教材分上、下两编。上编为人文素养培养的内容，注重职业素质宣教，为培养职业人才可持续发展打下基础；下编为职业写作内容，主要介绍各种职业写作文体的特点、写法，同时突出职业情景写作训练。为实现在教学中进行科学有序的训练的目标，本教材编排了大量情景模拟实训题，使学生在实践中学会职业文体的写作技能。上编共分四章，每章由作品、注释、译文、作者作品简介、相关评析、拓展阅读、思考与练习、故事点睛等八部分或其中几部分组成；下编分六章，由写作知识、案例分析、写作注意事项、思考与实训等内容组成，突破了一般教材的编排模式。
本书适用于应用性、技能型人才培养的各类教育，既可作高职院校教材，也可供本科院校作教学参考。
