在美国，用英语写作的学者对《芝加哥手册——写作、编辑和出版指南》(The Chicago Manual of Style: The Essential Guide for Writers, Editors & Publishers)都很熟悉，它成为各出版社和学术杂志对稿件要求最常用的标准。该书分三个主要部分：
