《英语》系列教材是教育部全国成人高等教育规划教材，1998年出版，供各类高职高专院校非英语专业（含具有“专升本”需求的）学生使用。编写组结合10多年来一线教师的教学体验和广大学生的学习诉求，对《英语》进行了两次修订。本系列教材是对《英语》进行了第二次修订后推出的第三版。第三版在保留了教材基本框架的基础上，更有针对性地更新了部分课文及相应练习，在让老用户感到熟悉与亲切的同时，又能更多地体验教材与时俱进的新语境和新气息；同时又为新用户提供一套理念更新换代的更新版《英语》。
本书为《英语学习辅导书3》（第三版），与《英语3》（第三版）配套，可供学生课外自学使用。全书共10个单元，内容包括自学同步练习及其录音原文和答案、课文的参考译文、词汇表、两套自测题及其录音原文和答案，以及《英语3》（第三版）的练习答案、参考译文和两套自测题的录音原文和答案。
