本书是普通高等教育“十五”国家级教材。
本书在满足教育部基础力学课程教学基本要求的同时,考虑了21世纪对人才培养的要求,在理论力学和材料力学课程内容的融合贯通和推陈出新、引进现代科技成果、拓宽知识面、加强工程观念培养、强化力学建模和工程应用能力训练等方面进行了积极探索。教材以工程力学的基本研究方法为主线重组教学内容,提高起点、减少重复,压缩了学时,强化了基本概念、基本理论和基本方法训练。
全书分两卷。第Ⅰ卷为《工程力学基础(Ⅰ)》,包括“静力分析基础”、“变形固体力学引论”和“杆件的强度、刚度和稳定性分析”三篇,涵盖了理论力学的静力学和材料力学的基本部分。第Ⅱ卷为《工程力学基础(Ⅱ)》,包括“运动分析基础”、“动力分析基础”和“分析力学基础”三篇,涵盖了理论力学的运动学和动力学的基本部分及材料力学的动载荷部分。
本书可作为高等学校工科本科各专业基础力学课程教材,并可供有关工程技术人员参考。
